Vertical System Design
The vertical module determines the depth, number and configuration of boreholes required for an optimal heat exchanger design. Providing simultaneous Design Day, Monthly and 8760 Hourly Analysis tools, the vertical module offers accuracy, flexibility and power.
Horizontal System Design
The horizontal module calculates the required trench, pit, bore and pipe lengths for a wide range of horizontal configurations. The module provides both "fixed temperature" and "fixed area" design methods, offering designers a unique degree of power and control.
Surface Water Design
The surface water module optimizes the pipe length and circuit number while ensuring the turbulent flow necessary for surface water heat exchangers. As with the other design modules, the surface water module provides superior design flexibility.
Hybrid System Design
For some projects, a 100% geothermal system is not feasible. The hybrid design toolset enables a designer on an 8760 hourly basis to easily determine the load balance between geo and hybrid equipment and to size an efficient, cost effective loopfield.
In addition to interfacing with industry leading building simulation tools, GLD also includes loads visualization, analysis and pump matching tools that help ensure proper loads management between the building and the loopfield.

The Life Cycle Costing (LCC) module integrates building loads, loopfield lengths, heat pump performance and a range of other inputs (including emissions) to provide quick, accurate and custom Net Present Value (NPV) analysis reports.
Designers can choose from thousands of heat pump modeling curves from nearly two dozen manufacturers to ensure the highest levels of accuracy in the dynamic loopfield simulation process. The heat pump module also enables designers to enter new/custom pumps.
The thermal conductivity analysis (or response) module is a comprehensive field test data analysis tool that reports thermal conductivity, thermal diffiusivity, undisturbed formation temperatures and borehole thermal resistance values.
Import and Export
